Theran Rel specializes in starfighter combat and starship piloting and is well versed in mechanics and starfighter tactics.

Background and Abilities

Born on Nar Shaddaa to parents that had better things to do than raise him, abandoned him on the streets. Theran was taken in my an old female Twi'lek. When he was twelve his care giver passed on and he was once again alone in the world. Scrounging for the next several years, he noticed a trend around him. People either became slaves, pirates, disappeared or became a vagrant.

Meeting an Imperial patrol at the age of fourteen he was inspired by their clean look compared to the dirt and grime of Nar Shaddaa. Trailing them for several day, he eventually befriended an officer. As a gift, the Officer gave Theran a travel chit, to help him reach an Imperial academy once he was old enough.

Deciding to work hard, Theran worked as a waiter and delivery boy for a restaurant durring the day and raced swoops at night. When he was sixteen applied to the Coruscanti Pilot Institute and was accepted. Training for three years, he then transfered to the Carida academy for a year, focusing on starfighter mechanics and repair. He finally transfered to the Imperial Corulag Academy, where he finished his TIE Pilot training with high marks and a commendation for exemplary piloting.

His first post was the Imperial Victory Star Destroyer "Firewind", due to it being out of position thanks to Admiral Ozzel, Theran didn't see any action during the Battle of Hoth. However for the next several campaigns he distinguished himself as an exemplary pilot. Quickly graduating from a TIE, he became a hot hand in a Interceptor. He was then transfered along with several other pilots to the ISD Garrett when Lord Vader began hunting rogue Admiral Harkov. Theran served with distinction on the Garret, flying wing man to Steele several times during the Harkov campaign as well as during the opening engagements of the Zaarin Campaign.

Durring his assignment to the ISD Garrett, Theran grew to greatly admire Lord Vader, idolizing his skill and striving to be worthy of flying with him. He was granted this honor when Lord Vader selected him and several other aces to fly with him to rescue the Emperor.

His final starfighter campaign was the Battle of Endor, flying off of the Executor, Theran was tasked with protecting the Executor from rebel craft. However with the destruction of the shield generator on the sanctuary moon, he was reassigned to destroy the rebel craft infiltrating the superstructure of the Death Star. He broke off pursuit to chase down a rebel a-wing that split off from the main group, however Theran broke off when he lost the A-Wing in the twisting tunnels.

Bouncing around the Imperial remnant, he eventually took command of the IVD Requiter, until his recent defection.

Physical Attributes

Theran is 5'10" tall, with black hair and a lean build. He has a scar running across his right cheekbone due to a training accident when he was in the academy. His eyes are blue with flecks of silver if you look closely.

Personality Traits

Theran is a patient and cautious man that is unwilling to sacrifice lives to complete objectives, despite being an Imperial Officer. He prefers to keep slightly away from others, but is willing to participate when asked to join in. He has a dry sense of humor that borders on being sarcastic. But it is his love for speed that keeps him going, flying fast and the thrill of combat are what drive him. While not suicidal, he does get a charge off of being in combat. However he feels that he should always look out for friendly fighters, before breaking into or starting a furball.

Languages

Theran is a known polyglot, and can fluently speak two languages and understand one other. The languages he knows are Huttese (Primary), Basic (secondary), and is able to understand most Bocce due to being raised deep in the outer rim territories.

Significant Possessions

Bryar Pistol, blaster of choice and he feels that other blaster pistols usually aren't worth the time.

Starships

Theran owns and flies a modified gray Eta with dark green trim. It has been modified to remain advanced enough to deal with modern fighters.
