Background
Octavia's career with the New Republic is still fairly new and she tends not to discuss her background and personal history except with her squad mates.
She is the 8th child of 10 from a family native to Tatooine. Her parents are both what most others would call "simple folk", born and raised in the harsh, rural moisture farming communities around Mos Eisley. Her father and mother are gifted mechanics and not only started their own business outside of the questionable space port but also fully staffed it with their large family. The business was not always clean, but the Terah clan kept from being drawn into any alliances or unsavory groups.
Unlike her siblings, Octavia desired to leave the planet and the family business. She took full advantage of the wide array of vehicles that came through the shop to gain as much mechanical experience as possible, as well as learning to pilot many of the vessels she repaired. She applied and was accepted to New Republic Space Academy in her late teens, graduating well ahead of her class.
Her first assignment after graduating was as an X-wing pilot. However, within weeks she was involved in an ambush on what was known as the Arah Run to trainees. It was after this run, merely a month into her assignment that she applied and was accepted to Rogue Squadron as a new Cadet.
Immediately following her acceptance to Rogue Squadron, the group left to Sekar IV for a vacation, following their time as exiles and strain of previous missions. Unable to join the squadron since she was not eligible for leave time, Octavia remained behind at Apex Base. Not shortly after their departure, both Rogue Squadron and Wraith Squadron were announced as dead over the Holonews - Octavia was skeptical of the announcement made by Brom, having seen no military reports of the accident nor any rumblings of rescue missions. Seeking out Zak Allistre, an ex-imperial who she clearly had no taste for, she teamed up with him in a Tie and her piloting a junked Lambda craft he obtained. However, their rescue mission became a second crash after a verbal altercation upon reaching Sekar IV, when Octavia attempted to force Zak's TIE to land and locked the Lambda wing with TIE. Surviving the crash, Zak shot Octavia in retaliation for causing the crash and nearly killing him, leaving a large wound in her thigh and backside. Were it not for the intervention of Jesmin, Halley, and Ryle from the Rogues – drawn to the crash and sound of shouts – Zak would have executed Octavia.
Elassar and Shadow from the Wraiths assisted in mending Octavia’s embarrassing injury (she was dubbed Red at this point by Face Loran, choosing the name over “Hole-in-the-Butt”) and she joined the group at their recently destroyed campsite. Not shortly afterwards, she met the entirety of both squadrons. Surprisingly, after returning to the Lambda with the strange Twi’lek Kai to recover any supplies, a strange alliance was made with Zak after he conceived the ability to use the crashed vehicles to Gerry-rig a transmitter to send for help.
Unfortunately, just as Zak had left and Octavia had been retuning the transmitter, Brom’s “rescue party” arrived and Octavia found herself left behind with the Wraith’s after making it back to the campsite from the Lambda crash. She worked closely with the Wraith’s to diffuse the assailants, surviving the incident as the squadrons finally escaped the strange planet in the ensuing chaos.
Following the incident on Sekar IV after her assignment to Rogue Squadron, and the apparent trend of quick transfers, Octavia caved to her weakness for mechanics and was caught by Colonel Garik 'Face' Loran after stealing a Wraith access code and sneaking aboard the Sacul to work on repairing the Quadrex Hyperdrive. Instead of being demoted or expelled, Face picked up on her passion for mechanics over flying and had her promoted and transferred to her current position as a Lieutenant and the Head Engineer of the Sacul for Wraith Squadron.
While serving with the Wraith's, Octavia did nearly find herself in danger of loosing her position in what has been documented as the Twin Moons hearing. After the preliminary conflict with the Bloodlust and subsequent escape and damage to the Sacul by the now ex Wraith Bowman Gavin, Octavia ran into a former squad mate from the Arah run. Levatt Turdan, a tall, Rutian Twi'lek had been not only her wing mate prior to her promotion to the Rogue Squadron, but the pair had shared an intimate relationship. Unknown to Octavia, however, Levatt had been sent as a spy to try and kidnap Octavia and gain as much information about the Wraiths as possible, having turned him against his former lover. Unaware of the animosity, Octavia obviously wished to resume their relationship, but kept Levatt at a distance from concern of how it would affect the squadron following the defection of Capt. Gavin so quickly. Suspicious, the Sacul did not allow any trust (although there was also some apparent jealousy at something being more important to her engineer than herself) and alerted Void. The Defel agreed to keep an eye on the pair, and was the only one aware of Octavia's true relationship with the Twi'lek. After a confrontation with Levatt regarding his flirtations with her squad mate Kaiu'kes, he managed to drug and kidnap Red. However, the kidnapping was halted before even leaving New Republic space, when Void hid out on the Twin Moons (Levatt's escape craft) and rescued Red.
Following the incident, not only was Levatt brought up on charges of treason and sentenced to a penal work colony for his crime, but Octavia was also brought up on charges of aiding and abetting the act of her own kidnapping. Senator Decker headed the three senators on the board that included Face and Commander Broyl from High Flight. After enduring a series of unfounded and misleading questions that dug much too deep for comfort in Octavia's actions and relationship, the council was adjourned when Face took control to prevent her career from being destroyed over the unfounded inquisition by Senator Decker, who was trying to buffer his standing with hard-line convictions in the wartime setting.
Levatt was "interviewed" by Face and Void prior to his deployment to the penal colony, and the information he provided spurred further actions to target and weaken Grant's power so that the war would - as Octavia hopes in the on going conflict - come to a close sooner than later.

Physical Attributes and Abilities
Octavia stands just above 5' one a good day, with a deceptively petite frame that makes her appear easily blown over. Hazel eyes compliment extremely long red hair, which is always pinned back in a braid and bun per military regilation. Her garb almost exclusively consists of brown or green mechanic jumpsuits that have had to be taken in, patched up, and handed-down from older siblings, predominantly her brothers.
Octavia's strongest talent lie in her ability to learn and work with almost any mechanical system. Her strongest work is in pure mechanical work, but she is also able to work with more complex communication and computer systems.
Along with her technical skills, while not offically proficient, she is adept at blending and basically hiding in plain sight, as well as in aquiring needed materials. While it is not as common or outwardly obvious when she engages these abilities compared to her squadmates, her upbringing more than taught her to work on her feet.
While she is stronger than she appears, she is much more suited to projectile and distance weapons than unarmed combat. However, her experience with the Wraiths is improving her hand to hand skills.
Personality Traits
Despite the severity of her profession, Octavia seems to have an annoyingly optimistic personality and the ability to see some good in every situation. A perpetial workaholic and Tomboy, she can easily get lost in projects and doesn't seem to mind being surrounded by mehcanical things instead of people, although this is not from a desire to avoid social interactions. She tends to almost always fill the roll of the younger sister in any group she interacts with, although this seems to be intentional and used as a way to gain trust and in many cases information. The feigned naivity and innocence only aide with her ability to easily read people and she is a naturally patient observer. Her upbringing also instilled a sense of group or family above individual, and she is easily embarassed or hesitant to call her own achievments or personal information to public view.
Military Rank and Current Assignment
Octavia is currently a Lieutenant in Star Fighter Command and Chief Engineer of the Sacul. Her call sign is Wraith Ten.
Significant Possessions
Due to her status as one of the youngest in her family, by conventional standard Octavia does not stand to benefit monetarily from her family's mechanical operations back home on Tatooine. The communal nature of the operation, however, has led Octavia to place little stock in personal possessions besides her private collection of tools (mostly hand me downs), which are almost always in her immediate possesion. Any other aquisitions in terms of weapons, parts, vehicles, etc. are considered by her to be the property of the Wraith Squadron and likewise to be given or applied to the need of the group before her own personal use. The only exception to this seems to be her astromech, Hope.
Starships
Octavia does not own a personal ship, although it is generally accepted that the Sacul is 'Hers' despite the fact that legally and on record mutliple groups and individuals - primarily Face Loran - purchased and own the Wraith's vessel. Octavia, however, believes that the Sacul is an individual and only refers to her in a possessive sense if the Sacul is being threatened.
Astromech
Aquired under dubious circumsatnces from Drake Norlem of High Flight, Hope is Octavia's R4. Due to active rust and other serious ailments, Hope's flower pot top has been replaced with the distinctive see-through R3 dome. A shy droid, she is still being repaired from previous damage and is an active project for Octavia.
