Background
Janson was burned on the agricultural world of Tanaab. Tanaab has long been a planet embroiled in civil war and fairly ignored by the rest of the galaxy. Little was known about Wes’ childhood until he took Corran, Myn, and Halley with him to his hometown. Janson was born in a “haunted house on the hill” to an eccentric inventor and an even more eccentric mother.
Seeing the Galactic Civil War as a far more crucial war than the petty battles of his homeworld, Janson left Tanaab and joined the Rebel Alliance in its infancy. Although stricken with Hesken Fever and unable to battle the first Death Star, Janson played a crucial role in many major battles, such as the Battle of Hoth and Battle of Endor.
After Endor, Janson continued to fight many battles with the Rogues, then eventually left the squadron in order to help train and create more squadrons. He rejoined Wedge’s ranks as second-in-command of the newly-formed Wraith Squadron.
Later, after Wedge returned to Rogue Squadron, Janson (now a General) joined him again as his third-in-command, acting as a loyal 'sidekick' to the other Generals. Once the Empire reconquered the galaxy, Janson shifted his role to his engineering talents, transferring to a Naval position as a Lieutenant Commander and took over the day-to-day running of the Valour's highly advanced technology as her Chief of Engineering.(ref)
Physical Attributes, Abilities, and Personality
Janson is a portly, 5’4” fellow with a round face, dark hair, and a mischievous grin. Not only is he an expert starfighter pilot and ground combatant, he is also an incredible inventor, slicer, and engineer, making him the most skilled member of the squadron, which is the only reason he ever got promoted to general. As far as his personality goes, he considers himself the comedic support of Rogue Squadron, but often comes across as more annoying than funny. He revels in the fact that he has power in the squadron yet doesn’t have to make the crucial decisions or respect the military decorum that Wedge or Corran do. However, although he never aspired to lead Rogue Squadron (and the mere thought of him in charge made every pilot shudder), he still expressed leadership qualities when leading his flight group through many a dangerous and technical challenge. The only people he can really relate to and communicate with are nerds, and thus most nerds who join RS were assigned to his flight group. Janson also fancies himself a junk artist and creative writer, although none of his colleagues have any appreciate for his work.
Now the Chief Engineer of the Valour, Janson is constantly upgrading and tinkering with the systems, trying to get the prototype ship to work, despite it's constant issues.
Significant Inventions
Among his most famed inventions are his array of sniper rifles, his miniature landspeeder, his flashlight saber (a failed but convincing looking attempt at making a lightsaber), and, of course, Meat Surprise.
Starships
Janson still has a personal X-wing fighter with custom modifications, although this is largely unused.
Astromech
IQ, a heavily-enhanced, overclocked R2 unit of incredible intelligence and processing power.
Greatest Accomplishment
Saving the universe after nearly destroying it via a miniature anti-gravity generator he invented to squeeze the last of the toothpaste out of the tube.
