Background
Halley is the oldest of two children born to Rylin and Jahles Kadorto on the planet Lianna. He grew up in Soltharim City in the Verran Province with his parents and his younger brother, Kem. His father ran exports to other planets in the system aboard an unmodified YT-2600 freighter called the Liannian Queen. His mother is a writer.
At the age of 12, Halley was prematurely forced to fly the Liannian Queen when it was stolen by a pair of escaped convicts. The young Kadorto was able to subdue the captors and fly the ship back to port.
A few years later, Halley had joined a New Republic training squadron on his home planet. He showed exceptional skill in all the craft he was placed in, and his commanding officer soon recommended him for training at Starfighter Command on Coruscant. Halley accepted and became a member of Galaxian Squadron, a group of elite pilots who were to be next in line for Rogue Squadron as positions became available.
The entire squadron was wiped out when they were sent to protect a group of transports being attacked by pirates. Only Halley survived the skirmish. He too was shot out of his X-wing and suffered amnesia. Within a few months, Halley had recovered physically and applied to Rogue Squadron.
Halley joined the Rogues just as they were shipped to Aquaris Base during Operation Vertex, vowing he would retrieve his memory despite the fact that the New Republic refused to give him any information about his past life.
During a mission on Coruscant a couple of years later, Halley ran into Tela Loris, a former friend and roommate from his past on Lianna. With her help, Halley was able to regain his memory. He would later admit his love for Tela, who would reciprocate.
After Rogue Squadron was ambushed during a funeral some time later, Kadorto took charge of his flight group and inadvertently injured Ryle after he incorrectly hot wired an elevator. Halley went to General Wes Janson for slicing lessons to make up for his shortcomings in this area. His newfound skills would redeem him when he and Colonel Tyria Sarkin had to shut down a group of battledroids that boarded the Rogue's Arrow after the squadrons fled to Imperial space.
While marooned on Sekar IV, Halley took charge of his flight group again while fleeing from bands of pirates and mercenaries sent to kill them. It was there that Halley overheard a group of pirates talking and discovered they were, in fact, the same pirates that shot down his former squadron, Galaxian, a number of years earlier. The Colonel ambushed the group but was injured. He would later recover physically, but was again emotionally scarred from the experience.
Halley accompanied General Corran Horn, General Wes Janson, and Myn Donos on their mission to Tanaab aboard the Nameless.
Kadorto was then offered the Commanding Officer's position of High Flight Squadron due to Darm Gizzard's wife falling ill and forcing the veteran into retirement. Both Halley and Gizzard jointly commanded the squadron during the Battle of Bormari.
Halley is currently holding interviews for new pilots to fill open slots in High Flight.
Physical Attributes and Abilities
Halley stands at just over 6 feet tall with brown hair and green eyes. He considers his main ability to be piloting, but is also involved with battle strategy. Most recently, he has taken up slicing as a hobby.
Personality Traits
Halley considers himself to be a fairly laid back person, but one who can get caught up in the excitement of a moment. He is not one to question orders or start fights, often finding himself to be the mediator in many disputes. A prime example of this trait can be seen when Halley acted as a referee of sorts in a bar fight between High Flight member Drake Norlem and a crazed arcade game player.
At times, Halley can be quite emotional, but tries to hide it by burying himself in work or simulator runs. Often he is very open with how he feels however, never being able to hide his true feelings for very long.
He is the type of person who tries to see good in a situation. Even when Tranzo is at his worst, shocking him with his infamous pulse stunner, Halley chooses to focus on Tranzo's more redeeming qualities. Most of all, Halley is an extremely trusting individual. He tends to make friends easily because of his decidedly happy demeanor.
