History in RS
Sam was one of the first handful of Rogue Squadron members - back when it was an email group strictly regulated to Star Wars only discussion. She was heavily persuaded (some would say 'maul'ed) by the Generals and her best friend, Mirax (who sadly jumped ship long ago) one weekend on AIM and up she joined. If she recalls right, she was originally against the switch to message board format! When the group switched over to a message board, Sam started up the Downtime thread to get to know her fellow obsessies better. Sam did originally participate in plotting but when her wrote herself away from the main squadron, her rescuer suddenly disappeared from RS and she just sort of quit plotting a bit after that. Sam is best remembered as the 'other' crazy one who paired with Iella as they sat on top of X-Wings chucking popcorn at passersby.
Sadly, Sam has yet to meet a single person from Rogue Squadron, though she came very close her first year in college when Iella was in the same city but their schedules just couldn't mesh up.
Outside RS
Sam is a happy newlywed (June 9, 2007) living in Duluth, Minnesota with her husband and two dogs. She graduated from Macalester College in 2005 and is putting her shiny Geology degree to use at . . . Barnes and Noble! She loves her job, though, and that's something, even though she's on the lookout for something else.
Episode I
Sam will usually admit to seeing Phantom Menace 12 times in the theater, though in her defense, some of that was in a dollar theater and you can't pass up Star Wars of any kind on the big screen for a dollar! She fully admits that she was so awed by seeing new Star Wars on the screen (you should have heard her squee at finally seeing things such as lightsabers cutting through walls) that it took her several viewings to realize how bad Episode I really was. Don't worry, though, she fully realizes the sucktackularness now and one of her favorite parts of Battlefront is killing Gungans.
